Process:
Mill (pulverize) existing failed asphalt and sub-base to a depth of 10"
The average size of aggregate at completion of milling = 3/4" or less
Add Portland cement at a rate of 30 lbs. by weight, mix and add water
Compact until new base resists settling
Haul excess materials to approved dump site.
Finish to below existing grade of 2" for overlay
Tack coat edges of repair area with SS-1 for adhesion purposes.
Overlay area with 2" of Texas Highway Department approved Type "D" asphalt
and compacted to match existing pavement.
Asphalt Overlay 6,865 sf -Plus misc Patching 800 sf
Thoroughly clean and sweep loose debris from pavement
Tack coat edges of repair area with SS-1 for adhesion purposes
Overlay area with Texas Highway Department approved Type "D"
asphalt compacted to an average thickness of 1 1/2"
First phase of compacting will be performed with a dual drum vibratory roller
Second phase of compacting will be done with a pneumatic roller until a
smooth, tight finish is achieved
All edges will be feathered to existing pavement, with the exception of areas
where the pavement adjoins a vertical structure.
It is understood and agreed to, that the overlay does not change the contour
of the existing pavement and 100% drainage cannot be guaranteed
SEAL COAT / CRACK FILL / STRIPE
Seal Coat Entire Lot – TWO (2) moves
Barricade, clean and sweep lot to prepare for seal-coating
Crack fill with rubberized asphalt crack filler
All light poles will be wrapped and protected
Apply first coat 75% Masterseal Asphalt Based pavement Sealer and 25%
Sealmaster Coal Tar Pavement Sealer, a Sealmaster LV Concentrate
Pavement Sealer a clay-stabilized asphalt based emulsion fortified
with coat tar at the rate of 1/8 gallon per square yard
Allow to dry
Apply second coat of sealer
Repaint all paint lines, fire lanes, curbing, H/C logos with
100% Premium Acrylic Zone Marking Paint for New Sealer ( This paint meets
or exceeds performance requirements set forth by Texas D.O.T. as well as
Federal D.O.T. exceeding the life/wear of traditional Alkyd and/or
Rubber Based Paints )
