Reconstruct Concrete Block Screen Wall

Project: Rebuild screening wall Bldg 4 – AND repairing the wing wall -New wall approximately one (1) single block approximately 65 lf L x 7’H ’ eleven (11) ten courses of block

Procedure

  The footing must be dug out.

  Materials surrounding the wall need to be excavated for the engineer to view (also to see if there are piers under the footing.

  Secure City of Irving Permit & Inspection Fees. Engineer letter & Construction Plans required. Verify stable for new wall.

  Drill and install ½" rebar on 24" centers into existing footing.

  Construct wall filling block with concrete and wire mesh installed at three levels.

  Fill all levels with concrete.

  Wing wall – re-point as necessary and install new mortar.

  Apply mortar to new block so the appearance will be similar to existing.

  Allow mortar to dry then apply block filler on exterior walls as primer.

  Paint exterior walls with CLOSELY matching color to building.

  Clean area.
