Ken Palin, Ken Palin – Founder of FLOORWORKS and Facility Restoration Services, participated in construction projects from the age of sixteen. The Palin Family owned a masonry company constructing and repairing concrete brick and block buildings, and a scaffolding company constructing, leasing, and selling scaffold all over New England. The company started with a contract at the very first ESPN building 25 years ago in our hometown of Bristol, Connecticut. As the business grew, the company contracted to erect scaffold and conduct repairs at Yale University in New Haven, West Point Academy, Paul Newman’s’ Restaurant, and Phil Donahue’s’ Estate, to name a few.

In later years, Ken invested five years as a commercial project manager consulting with and installing concrete floor coatings and five years as a project manager for commercial paving company. In addition to the above, Ken marketed the very first liquid polymer for a two-hour concrete repair in Texas, starting in 1999, for Aggressive FIXX. The product brand name is Final FIXX and was approved by TX-DOT for numerous repair specifications.

John Costa, Superintendent of Projects, has a focused background of residential and commercial remodeling for 38 years. John progressed in his career mastering several trades and is talented in managing all phases of any size construction project. His resume includes overseeing the Facility Department at Rice University for 5 (five) years. His staff included an excess of 144 employees.

Richard Switzer, Project Manager of Special Projects, has been known for 24 (twenty-four) years as a master and “expert” in the field of specialty contracting. Restoration projects over the last (7) seven years include water leak investigation and repair, structural consulting and restoration, commercial concrete floor and specialty coatings applicator, expansion joint repair / caulking / leveling, and historical structure restoration.

Martina Kolmeder, Upon receiving her physics degree from SMU she was an Introduction to Programming instructor and then an Application Engineer. She left the corporate world to go into business for herself with a focus on Web and Database Development and Photography. JC Ahangama - Network Administrator: JC is an IT Consultant at American Integrated Systems (AIS). Steve Collier, (right) is a residential and commercial painting specialist. Over 25 years, Steve has painted hundreds of schools, churches, bank buildings, apartment complexes, homes, and has a special team that paints fences, iron and wood.

Rick Watson, (center) is the distributor for Elite Crete and technical advisor for many of our flooring projects. Lee Slabach, (right) is a commercial flooring consultant for concrete coatings, has been a friend for twenty years.

Ed Hobbs was a union steelworker for 17 years. His creative abilities lead him away from the union to repair, fabricate, and / or design anything out of metal or steel.
